FAQs

I don't know where to begin - help!

Don’t worry - we offer a complete plan and design service that covers all aspects of your wine cellar, from the size of your wine collection to the space you have available. We can then design and deliver the ultimate wine cellar for your needs.

Do you build the wine cellar yourselves?

Yes, we take on the first meeting with the client, architect or consultant through to the turn key finish of the wine cellar.

How many bottles of wine can a wine cellar hold?

From 400 bottles up to however many you want – the wine cellar is custom-built to your own individual needs. If your fridge won’t fit your collection, we can help with a custom wine cellar build.

Do I need a mansion to house a wine cellar?

Not at all - the average size of the wine cellars we build is about 2.4m², a very achievable size. We can build one within an existing room of your house!

Why do I need to cellar my wine?

Wine changes as it ages, softening tannins and developing complexities. Cellaring – and maturing – wine means you’ll enjoy all the unique qualities of mature wine without having to pay a premium for old vintages. Having wine on hand also means no more last minute dashes to the wine store when an unexpected guest turns up.

How much will building a wine cellar cost me?

We can custom design wine cellars to suit your home and budget and have installed cellars from $20,000 up to $50,000+.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. SPCA New Zealand has worked closely with White Refrigeration across a range of HVAC maintenance, compliance, repair, and project works. Throughout our engagement, Wilson, Mike, and the wider team have consistently demonstrated professionalism, strong communication, and a solutions-focused approach.
What stands out is their willingness to thoroughly investigate issues, clearly explain technical findings, and work collaboratively to achieve the best outcome. Their team provides regular updates, practical recommendations, and follows through on commitments, making it easy to manage projects and maintenance activities across a diverse property portfolio.
We have particularly appreciated their support on complex HVAC remediation works, preventative maintenance planning, and their proactive approach to identifying potential issues before they become larger problems.
Thank you to the White Refrigeration team for your ongoing support. We look forward to continuing to work together in the future.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I work with Whites in a commercial capacity, they are punctual and professional, often helping us out in a pickle. Their pricing is more than fair. I would highly recommend using Whites.
